Christmas Eve and Day

My family has a unique tradition - we celebrate Christmas primarily on Christmas Eve. Santa rings the doorbell, and the kids - because they can't see Santa - hide in the bathroom to sign Christmas carols while Santa unloads the presents. To outsiders, it probably seems weird. And it is especially bizarre when you're 23, engaged, and have to hide in the bathroom with your fiance. But, it wouldn't be Christmas without it.

This year, Martin and Jim got to help Santa, while Ginger and I took Peyton and Scott into the bathroom to sing. After the magical bell rang, Peyton was greeted by millions of toys.

At dinner, Peyton got to enjoy her very first candy cane. She was a sticky mess, but she had a blast eating it.

On Christmas morning, Scott joined Peyton in their matching PJ's and we enjoyed a nice family brunch. Martin and I went for Christmas morning runs (thanks for the cool new workout gear, Santa!) and Peyton spent the day flitting back and forth between her myriad of new toys.
