Baby Rough!

In a few months, I'm going to be an Aunt! I have an adorable niece and nephew on my husband's side already, but I can't wait for my sister and Jim's baby Scott to join us! I was so happy to help throw them a baseball themed shower last weekend. Jimger (that's their Hollywood moniker aka Brangelina and Bennifer) got lots of good gifts, and I think everyone had a great time.

Since it was such a quick trip to Arizona, Daddy was on babysitting duty all weekend back in Virginia. It was his first overnight alone with Monkey, but he loved every minute of it. He still hasn't quite figured out how to dress her, and at one point gave up and let her chill out in just her diaper. But, she doesn't seem to mind, does she?

Raising Hell

Peyton is into everything now. She is desperately trying to crawl, but settles for a snake-like slither. If it's within reach she grabs it (and puts it right into her mouth). Hair, earrings, cell phones, noses, remote controls, mail, cups, bracelets, cats...nothing is safe from PK's death grip.

At her most recent doctor's visit, Peyton entertained and amused herself with the crinkly paper on the table. Within seconds she destroyed the paper - repeatedly grabbing it and putting it in her mouth. She topped it all off by spitting up all over it.

Father's Day

There is something about the way a daughter looks at her father. And from this picture, that uncompromising adoration begins at an early age. Peyton is one lucky girl. She is blessed to have Martin as her daddy. He's patient, loving, and one of the most involved father's I've seen. Martin shares all of the responsibilities and chores of raising Peyton (and actually might do more of the yucky tasks - diaper changing, spit up cleaning, etc. than me), and he does it with pleasure. Happy Father's Day, Martin. You are a wonderful husband and the perfect dad.

Because of a work trip, for the first time in about 7 years, I got to spend father's day with my dad (and he got to spend it with his granddaughter). We spent the weekend at my parent's cabin in Show Low, and enjoyed a relaxing time with family. Peyton got her daddy lots of Notre Dame stuff to get ready for the upcoming football season (including a ND cheerleader outfit for herself!)

6 Months Old!

Time sure does fly. I can't believe Peyton is six months old already. That means I need to start planning her 1st birthday!

Water Baby

Now that summer is in full swing in Washington, Peyton is beating the heat and humidity with regular trips to the pool. She loves the water. She especially loves cruising around in her pink boat.

Fireworks + Friends = Fatigue

Peyton really enjoyed her first 4th of July. She got to wear her new patriotic dress (which mom bought for her before she was born in anticipation of the holiday),

she got to play with her good friend Amber,

and she got to hang out at the barbeque.

But all of that excitement was exhausting - she fell fast asleep before her bedtime.

Happy 4th of July!
