Party like it's 2014

I hate New Year's Eve. I've never had a good one. I think it's forced fun and typically prefer to sit at home in my sweats and watch the ball drop on TV. But this year I decided to ditch my bah humbug attitude for a day and invite the gang over to celebrate in style.

The evening had the makings of a wild and crazy celebration for both kids and parents alike.

First up - the kids. They had a blast eating chalk, coloring on the windows, breaking high chairs and sipping champagne. We celebrated at 10pm (midnight in NYC!) so the kids could play along. Little did we know that Peyton and Gabriella would stay up passed midnight in Arizona partying like the little rock stars that they are.

Mmmm. Champagne!

We love New Year's Eve!!

Sammie starts 2014 out by trying to kill her brother.
For the adults, we drank our faces off, ate our faces off, gossiped, and engaged in a friendly battle of the sexes with a way cool iPhone game called Heads Up! I do realize that playing a game on our iPhones might knock this New Year's celebration down from "out of control" to "losers pretending to be cool" status. But we had fun.

The girls.
Not planned. I swear.

Who is watching the kids right now? And who is taking the picture?
On a side note, I welcome 2014 with open arms. 2013 had its share of ups and downs - but I look at them all as a learning experience on who I am, who I want to be, and where i want to go in life. Before I get too sappy, I do believe that this is gonna be an exciting year for the Hellmers. I'm gonna get super skinny, we're going to travel and make lots of money, Peyton is going to keep on being her bad ass self, and this blog will be funnier than ever.
