Hippity Hop

It's May 3 and I'm just now sharing our Easter weekend. So much for my plan to be timely and consistent with this blog. My sincerest apologies. But keeping up with a 15 month old takes a whole lot of work. Someone should really tell you that when you sign up at the parent store.

Although this Easter was technically Peyton's second, she was a three month old blob last year and didn't have a clue. This year - she got it. And she loved it. The weekend kicked off with the afforementioned trip to see the Bunny himself. It included a neighborhood egg hunt, a barbeque, dinner with good friends, and a whole lot of shenanigans. I'll let the pictures, video, and my witty captions do the explaining.

Easter morning: "So, you're telling me that while I was sleeping peacefully in my room, a giant bunny snuck into our house, spied on me, and left this by my door. Not creepy at all, Mom and Dad."

"Creepy or not, the bunny has good taste when it comes to giving gifts."

"No way! The butterfly balloon?! I've been eyeing this at the grocery store for months!"

"Plastic egg in one hand, check. Bunny ears on head, check. Hippo pajamas, check."

"Amber, I hear the egg hunt can be a bit rough with those big kids. Let's form an alliance. Seal it with a kiss."

"Gimme that basket mom. I've got eggs to find."

"I will distract Amber with my kisses, and steal her eggs when she's not looking."

"Ok, I found them. Now what?"

"Sit here and look cute in my peach easter sweater with my basket full of eggs? You got it."

"Egg hunt is over, now it's time for some fun in the sun and water!"

"Dunk yourself under like me, Amber. Unless you're afraid of getting your giant hat wet."

"Capping the day off with a neighborhood barbeque. Not a bad life at all."

"The fun keeps coming! Easter is the best, Daddy!"

"I'm seriously so high on sugar right now, I'll smile for anything."

"Told ya I'd smile for anything."

"I know I look good in my easter dress."

"Amber has the lampshade on her head, so I've got to step up my game!"

"Yum yum. Ham, mimosas, and candy!"

"I may look a little disheveled, but like any true party girl, I'll keep going until I drop."
