Happy 1st Birthday Peyton!

I am a roller coaster of emotions today. Our little girl is one year old. I am so excited to see her grow and learn. But a part of me is sad that my baby isn't really a baby anymore.

Here's the important stuff: At 1 year old, Peyton weighs 20 pounds, 14 ounces (30th percentile), stands 30 inches tall (80th percentile), and her head is 17 1/2 inches (30th percentile). She is still on track to be tall and lean. Giselle better watch her back.

Those stats don't really mean much - the important news is that she is thriving. Each day she learns something new - whether it be a new sign, a new word, or a new game. In fact, last night when I asked her for a kiss, she obliged for the first time. Her laugh is infectious, and lucky for us, she laughs all of the time. Her favorite games are a version of hide and seek, chase around the house on Daddy's shoulders, and peek-a-boo.

Here is this month's winning shot:

And the outtakes:

"Hey, does this diaper make my butt look big?"
"Betcha can't swing your legs as well as I can!"

"Told ya."

"Mom, I have been doing this every month for 12 months. When are you going to give it a rest?!?!"
